-The School
|
Sugarbush,
Vermont
A prep school for those who are curious about careers in film and video production.
A week long, hands on
workshop designed for beginners who would like to get involved in
moviemaking but aren't quite sure how to get started and don't want to
take highly technical or intense immersion courses that may overwhelm them
or empty their bank accounts.
The New Filmmakers Prep
School is housed in a large, five-bedroom ski house situated near the
Green Mountain National Forest at the Sugarbush Resort in Fayston,
Vermont. This quiet and private location makes for a relaxing and
nurturing learning environment.
Enrollment is limited to
eight students per week. In that week students will engage in
screenwriting, film and video production; which includes pre-production,
directing, camera operation (both film and digital) lighting, and editing.
As a token of their accomplishment in completing the instruction, students
will receive a VHS copy of their workshop production.
Workshops begin each Monday
and conclude the Friday of that week. Students should arrive Sunday
afternoon. Departure will be Friday evening. Each day's instruction begins
at 9:00am and concludes at 4:00pm. There is a short lunch break at noon.
The cost for the workshop is
$1,500 per student. This cost includes dormitory sleeping accommodations
for five nights, and five days of instruction. For students who wish to
find their own accommodations, the price is reduced to $1,200. There are
no lab fees or other costs. Meals and transportation are not included.
However, there are several inns and restaurants located within walking
distance and transportation into town is offered by the Sugarbush Shuttle
Service.
The school is open to
students of all ages but those students under the age of eighteen must be
accompanied by an adult.
